College & Career Counseling Center
The Rock’s counselor supports students’ academic, college/career and social-emotional development needs by designing, implementing, evaluating, and enhancing a comprehensive counseling program that promotes student success.
The Rock counselor will advise and work with Freshmen and Sophomore students to explore academic and extracurricular interests, and to immerse themselves into the school community in meaningful ways. Academically, students are encouraged to enroll in challenging course work that prepares them for their post high school college/career choice.
Junior year begins individual meetings with our counselor to develop a personal relationship so our counselor can guide the student through the college/career process. These meetings will help the student to understand their strengths and achievements, how to research colleges and or career options and focus on writing and communication skills.
Senior year begins the summer before classes begin. Students should work on their responses to essay questions for college bound students and resume building for career orientated students. During the school year students will continue to meet with the counselor to refine college or career choices and guide the student through the process.
